Alabama shaking
Alabama Shakes and charismatic singer Brittany Howard play a mixture of feverish blues-rock and agressive soul music from the South.

Zac Cockrell, Steve Johnson and Heath Fogg gathered in 2009, in Athens, Alabama, around Brittany Howard, a charismatic singer who is endowed with a deep powerful soul voice. All 4 musicians formed famous Alabama Shakes band. They offer a mixture of feverish blues-rock and aggressive soul music from the South. They first produced covers from Led Zeppelin, Otis Redding and James Brown, before they signed a contract with Rough Trade music label. Their first album, Boys & Girls, a 100% return-to-the-past LP? was out in 2012.
Alabama Shakes decided to adopt the sound and spirit of the glorious 1970s. Their music has accents of rock from the South, blues, country and soul, and delivers great songs inspired by such great artists as Led Zep, Allman Brothers, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, AC/DC, etc.
